Weekend of Workshops and Hafla with Kay Taylor and Christine Emery in North Walsham  15-16 November 2008:
Saturday 15th November 2008
Manor Road Junior School, North Walsham, NR28 9HG

10.30 - 12.30:   Drum Workshop.  Open Level.

Drum workshop with Adam Warne, a.k.a. Rhythmicginger.

13.30 - 15.30: Dancing to the Rhythm.  All Levels

Kay will explore each rhythm, leading the group through a series of ideas as to how to interpret each one.  These rhythms will then be linked together into a more traditional tabla solo giving dancers the chance to experience the direct link between dancer and drummer.  There is nothing as exciting as dancing with live music.  The interaction between the dancer and the musician is what makes this dance so unique.

16.00 - 18.00:  Basics and Beyond.  Improver/Intermediate Level

Starting with posture and a look at how it impacts on every move we make, Kay takes basic technique and builds on it, adding layers and accents, to the level of the class.  Whether you are improver or intermediate level, you will take lots away from this class.  It is an interactive class in which Kay takes requests but also focuses on what she can see is needed.  Kay is renowned for her thorough understanding of technique and her ability to break it down into understandable chunks.

Also on Saturday, but at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall:

16.30 - 18.30:  Living Dead Girls!
